The probably most well-known route of the Way of Saint James to Santiago de Compostela is the Camino Francés, the French Way.
It starts in France at the foot of the Pyrenees in the pictorial small town Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port close to the Spanish border.
In Spain the autonomous regions Navarra, La Rioja, Castilla y León and Galicia are crossed. This illustrated book
catches the wonderful landscapes of nothern Spain, many details, simple and everyday things get a new meaning and
are shown from the pilgrim perspective. Life is beautiful, and this book shows this in a unique manner.
... of the author
Stefan Selle,
born in 1968, did the Camino Francés in 2007 after he had quit his
previous job. On the Way he got a pleasant surprise: an electronic message which offered a chair as a
professor
of information systems at the HTW - the University of Applied Sciences of the Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany.
So, the Way was worthwhile in several ways!
